Understanding Failover in SD-WAN
The SD-wan is a high-speed local internet connection that offers unlimited data transmission over a Wi-Fi network. Unlike the more popularly known wi-fi, the SD-wan does not require any router or access point in order to function. It also has the advantage of being able to communicate with other local users on a much faster frequency than regular wireless connections. The main drawback of the SD-wan lies in the fact that it is only able to transfer data at a rate of 5 megabits per second (Mbps). This speed is more than adequate for a personal computer user, however it is far slower than that of the popular wireless connection which is the gsm and hdacs.
Due to its lower transmission speed, many users who use the SD-wan find that it is far more reliable than other forms of connectivity. One problem faced by many users is that they encounter connectivity problems when moving from one place to another in different cities or even from one county or state to another. This is because of the weak signals that are usually broadcast by the SD-wan router. Another major problem faced by users of the SD-wan is the lack of coverage in certain areas.
One of the most common challenges that are faced by many users of the SD-wan is poor application performance which is due to the poor performance of the Wi-Fi router. This makes the connection difficult to utilize for certain business applications. This issue can be resolved by upgrading the Wi-Fi router or purchasing a dedicated Wi-Fi device. Also this problem is exacerbated by the congestion of the Wide-Area Network (WAN) in the city center.
Many network service providers offer software updates and guarantee that the newest version is made available to customers. One way to ensure that new software versions are made available to customers is to encourage customer testing of these software products. The availability of user testing allows network service providers to evaluate various aspects of the SD-wan technology including compatibility, performance, connectivity and other issues. This enables users to obtain the most out of their Wi-Fi network transport device.
To keep pace with increasing numbers of Internet users, most business organizations have started deploying SD-wan technology to handle their enterprise networks. Businesses now use SD-wan networks to manage their enterprise networks, wireless printers, mobile devices and other equipment. This enables them to reduce operational costs and boost productivity.
Cloud platforms such as cloud-based enterprise networking services (CES) are useful in handling the quality of service, recovery and failure recovery of data centers. For instance, Cisco's Data Center Mastering (DCM) provides a failover solution for enterprises using the Cisco enterprise messaging (ECM) and the Cisco network management system (NCMS). Through a combination of cloud services and SaaS and other software applications, enterprise network managers can maximize the benefits of their current SD-wan implementations.
